@jake I can tell teh dentists, from the mac geeks form the car show nuts pretty easily. If only I could apply these talents to something useful.

@David: Definitely, beer sounds good. Are you good enough to tell what type of conference is at Moscone just by the attendees wandering around your neighborhood? That would be an interesting trick.

I’ll be going to Moscone later today - nothing to do with tech conferences, it’s a couple of blocks from my place and we take our kids there to play in the playground. Attending conferences there for me is perfect, much better than a hideous commute down the 101 to Oracle HQ.

I always find it interesting to see the different stereotypes you get wandering around the area for the different conferences. Mac geeks are the easiest to spot, Java One geeks abound too and I expect a big crowd for Web 2.0 Expo, let’s see what a Web 2.0 geek looks like

@Shishir: I agree. You should write a strongly-worded letter to Tim O’Reilly. I think other cities may feel the same way, since most of the tech conferences are in the Bay Area.

This is unfair and ridiculous…we miss all the action and opportunities ( including of-course the t-shirts)such as these while being here in India :(. Is it why they call it the third-world.
